People Tend To Hide The Truth
Better is he who is lightly esteemed and has a servant, Than he who [boastfully] honors himself [pretending to be what he is not] and lacks bread. – Proverbs 12:9 AMP
Social Media Can Be Deceptive
Truth be told I really do not like social media. Honestly, it is a waste of time, and everyone likes to pretend. But I was pressed by the Holy Spirit because I believe some people are being deceived. Here it is. Everything that you see on social media is NOT REAL. People, especially “so-called” Christian leaders like to pretend online. Online you can create a fantasy world of who you want to be while hiding who you really are.
Do not let the enemy steal your joy by causing you to compare yourself to EVERYONE on Facebook and online (John 10:10). You don’t know what they are going through. It is best to let God deal with your heart and let God heal you from whatever it is that is causing you to compare yourself to people you do not know online.
1 Thessalonians 4:10-12
New International Version
10 And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more, 11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, 12 so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
Truth Be Told
A lot of people are going to be fired from their jobs. If you allow social media to completely consume you then that will be your portion. You cannot allow people to be your main focus all the time. Time waits for no one. That 1 hour that you spend online, scrolling, and obsessing over someone else. You could be reading the Word of God (Bible), investing, and reading a book. Obsessing over other people creates a limitation on your own life. And if you are not careful you will look back years from now and say you “wasted your time”.
Ezekiel 2:5-7
New King James Version
5 As for them, whether they hear or whether they refuse—for they are a rebellious house—yet they will know that a prophet has been among them.
6 “And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house. 7 You shall speak My words to them, whether they hear or whether they refuse, for they are rebellious.
Prayer
Father, help me to simply focus on you. In Jesus Name, Amen.
